DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 5.5 mm – or size needed to get 14 sts in stocking st = width 10 cm.
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. ----------------------------------------------------------
SLIPPER: Cast on (23-25-27) 27-29-29 sts on a double pointed needle size 5.5 mm with Andes (let the thread end be approx. 20 cm long, this is used for assembly). Work in GARTER ST – see explanation above, back and forth on needle until piece measures (8½-9½-10½) 11½-13-14½ cm. Distribute the sts on 4 double pointed needles and work rib K 1/P 1 in the round while AT THE SAME TIME working first and last st on round K tog = mid on top of foot. There are (22-24-26) 26-28-28 sts remain on needle. Continue rib until piece measures (14½-16½-18½) 20½-23½-26½ cm. Then work in stocking st in the round while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 11-12-13 (13-14-14) sts. Work 1 round. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2 (when no of sts is not divisible with 2, K the last st) = 6-6-7 (7-7-7) sts remain on needle. Piece measures approx. (16-18-20) 22-25-28 cm. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
ASSEMBLY: Fold the cast on edge double (= mid back), use the thread end at the beg to sew neatly tog mid back.
