Knitted DROPS tunic



Size: S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL
Materials:old pink:
450-450-500-550-600-650 g

CIRCULAR NEEDLE (80 cm) SIZE 4.5 mm - or size needed to get 20 sts x 26 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm (approx. 38 rows in garter st = 10 cm vertically).
CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4.5 mm - for crochet edge.
MOTHER-OF-PEARL BUTTONS, NO 521 (15 mm): 3 pieces for all sizes

GARTER ST:
In the round on needle: * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.
Back and forth on needle: K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

DECREASE TIP 1 (applies to dec in the sides of body):
Dec 1 st on each side of marker in each side of body (1st and 4th marker)
Dec after marker as follows: (marker), K 1, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso.
Dec before marker as follows: Work until 3 sts remain before marker, K the next 2 sts tog, K 1, (marker).

DECREASE TIP 2 (applies to front and back piece):
Dec 2 sts on front/back piece as follows:
After 2nd/5th marker: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso = 1 dec st.
Before 3rd/6th marker: K until 2 sts remain before 3rd/6th marker, K the next 2 sts tog = 1 dec st.

INCREASE TIP:
Inc 1 st after marker as follows: K 1, make 1 YO.
Inc 1 st before marker as follows: K until 1 st remains before marker, make 1 YO, K 1.
On next round K YOs twisted (i.e. work in back loop of sts instead of front) to avoid holes.

RAGLAN:
Dec at every marker as follows: K until 5 sts remain before marker, K the next 2 tog, make 1 YO, K the next 2 tog, K 2 (marker is between these 2 sts), * slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso *, make 1 YO, repeat from *-* 1 more time = 1 dec st and 1 YO on each side of marker. On next row K YOs to make holes.

BODY:
Worked in the round on needle. Cast on 212-228-244-264-288-312 sts on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Muskat. Work in GARTER ST - read explanation above - the entire round. Work 3 ridges in total, then work in stocking st until piece measures 4 cm. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
Now insert 6 markers in the piece as follows: 1 marker at beg of round (= 1st marker), 1 marker after 30-32-34-36-38-40 sts (= 2nd marker), 1 marker after 46-50-54-60-68-76 sts (= 3rd marker), 1 marker after 30-32-34-36-38-40 sts (= 4th marker), 1 marker after 30-32-34-36-38-40 sts (= 5th marker), 1 marker after 46-50-54-60-68-76 sts (= 6th marker). Move the markers upwards when working.
On next round dec 1 st on each side of each marker in the sides of body - READ DECREASE TIP 1, and 2 sts on front and back piece - READ DECREASE TIP 2 = 8 dec sts in total on round. Repeat dec every 3-3-3½-3½-4-4 cm 7 more times (8 dec in total) = 148-164-180-200-224-248 sts on needle. Remove the 4 markers on front/back piece (2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th marker), 1 marker remains in each side of body (74-82-90-100-112-124 sts on front/back piece). READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING.
Continue in stocking st until piece measures 30-31-32-33-34-35 cm. On next round, inc 1 st on each side of each marker - Read INCREASE TIP = 4 inc sts on round. Repeat inc every 3 cm 4 more times (5 inc in total) - AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm, work in garter st over all sts. When all inc are done, there are 168-184-200-220-244-268 sts on needle (84-92-100-110-122-134 sts on front/back piece). Continue in garter st until piece measures 45-46-47-48-49-50 cm. On next round P all sts and cast off 4-5-6-7-8-9 sts on each side of each marker for armholes (8-10-12-14-16-18 sts cast off in each side) = 76-82-88-96-106-116 sts remain on front/back piece. Cut the thread.

RAGLAN:
Then work raglan back and forth as follows: Slip the first 38-41-44-48-53-58 sts on a stitch holder (= left front piece), work the next 38-41-44-48-53-58 sts (= right front piece), cast on 44-46-48-50-56-66 sts for sleeve, work the next 76-82-88-96-106-116 sts (= back piece), cast on 44-46-48-50-56-66 sts for sleeve, work the 38-41-44-48-53-58 sts on stitch holder from left front piece = 240-256-272-292-324-364 sts on needle. Insert 1 marker in the transition between front piece/sleeve/back piece/sleeve/front piece = 4 markers in total, move them upwards when working. Then K 3 rows (= 4 rows in total). On next row from RS, dec for RAGLAN - read explanation above = 8 dec sts in total on row. Repeat dec every 4th row 15-16-17-17-18-18 more times (16-17-18-18-19-19 times in total), then every other row 1-1-1-2-4-9 times in total (17-18-19-20-23-28 dec in total) = 104-112-120-132-140-140 sts remain on row.
After last dec, K 1 row from WS. On next row from RS work as follows: K 1, * make 1 YO, K the next 2 tog *, repeat from *-* until 1 st remains, finish with 1 YO and K 1. Then K 3 rows. On next row from RS, cast off all sts. Piece measures approx. 67-69-71-73-76-80 cm.

CROCHET EDGE:
Crochet 1 edge along the vent mid front with hook size 4.5 mm as follows: Work from RS 1 sl st in the corner on left front piece, 1 ch, * 1 dc in 1st row, skip next row *, repeat from *-* (= 1 dc over 1 ridge) along outermost edge on left and right front piece - but work 3 ch-rows for buttons (by working ch for approx. 3 cm) evenly on right front piece, the last ch-row should be approx. 3 cm from upper edge on neck. Sew buttons on to left front piece, approx. 1 cm in from mid front.
