Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 220-232-244-256-268 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with off white. P 1 row from WS, then work as follows - from RS: 1 edge st in garter st, * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from *-* and finish with K 2 and 1 edge st in garter st. Work rib until piece measures 4 cm, then work 2 rows in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 57-59-61-63-65 sts evenly = 163-173-183-193-203 sts. Work in garter st and work pattern according to diagram A-1. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, switch to circular needle size 3 mm and continue with off white and in stocking st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Insert 2 markers in the piece; 41-43-46-48-51 sts in from each side (back piece = 81-87-91-97-101 sts). When piece measures 7 cm, dec 1 st on each side of each marker (= 4 dec sts), repeat dec every 6-6-7-7-8 cm 3 more times = 147-157-167-177-187 sts. When piece measures approx. 27-29-32-33-34 cm, work next row from RS as follows: 33-35-38-40-43 sts (= right front piece), cast off 8 sts for armhole, work 65-71-75-81-85 sts (= back piece), cast off 8 sts for armhole and work the rest of row (= 33-35-38-40-43 sts on left front piece). Put piece aside and knit the sleeves.
Cast on 72-76-80-84-88 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with off white. K 1 round, then work rib = K 2/P 2. When piece measures 3 cm, K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 9 sts evenly = 63-67-71-75-79 sts. Insert a marker at the beg of the round. On next round, cast off 8 sts mid under sleeve (i.e. 4 sts on each side of marker) = 55-59-63-67-71 sts. Slip sts on a stitch holder and knit another sleeve.
Slip sleeves on to same circular needle size 3 mm as body where armholes were cast off = 241-259-277-295-313 sts. P 1 row from WS with off white. Insert 10 markers in the piece as follows: 1 marker after 17 sts, then 23-25-27-29-31 sts between markers, 17 sts will then remain after last marker. Switch to circular needle size 2.5 mm. Work in GARTER ST back and forth according to A.2 - AT THE SAME TIME on 3rd row (= RS), dec 1 st on the right side of all markers by K 2 tog. Repeat dec every 4th row alternately on the left and right side of all markers 6 more times, and then every other row a total of 8-9-11-12-14 times = 91-99-97-105-103 sts. Finish A.2 - see arrow in diagram for size. K 4 rows in garter st with off white while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 11-15-7-11-5 sts evenly = 80-84-90-94-98 sts. Cast off.
Knit up 128-140-152-160-168 sts from RS on circular needle size 2.5 mm up along right band. K 1 row, then work as follows from RS: 5 sts in garter st, K 2, * P 2, K 2 *, repeat from *-* and finish with 5 sts in garter st. When rib measures 1½ cm, cast off for button holes as follows: Work 9-11-11-7-15 sts as before, * work 2 sts K/P tog, 1 YO, 20-22-20-22-22 sts rib *, repeat from *-* 5-5-6-6-6 times and finish with P 2 tog, 1 YO, K 2 and 5 sts in garter st. Continue with rib and bands in garter st until piece measures 3 cm. Cast off. Repeat on left front piece but without button holes.
